Inner change
Inner change is noted whenever a person changes their attitude or actions which either results in a positive or negative impact on the person and those around him. When the world is screaming that all man has to do is be good and decent to receive a great life, God is saying change on the inside to become good and decent.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new crenation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

Free
Freedom in life can't be bought. It is given to each of us through the grace of God. Salvation is free, air is free, water is free ( until mankind controls it). Billy states that God is not a God who you must bargain with in order to earn salvation. It is free. All you need to do is to ask for the forgiveness of you sins and ask Jesus to come into you life. But what does that mean to you? Either you understand it or you don't. Either you accept it or you ignore it and accept the consequences of your inaction. It is just like every other actions in life. You either choose the right thing or the wrong thing and it will be given to you as the rewards of life.
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:24 NIV)

Learn to Ride
Billy relates the story of his first bicycle to that of a Christian. We are to continually to move forward and grow. Just like riding a bike, we must be able to pedal past the things in life that holds us back. We must be growing stringer in Christ and be closer to Him than ever before in our life.
for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ (Acts 17:28 NKJV)

Dependence
Society today has an attitude of entitlement. I am entitled to receive benefits from the government because that's the way I survive. I am entitled to big house and luxury car because my parents had it. People dumb down the work ethic of past centuries. They forget that their parents worked for everything they got. They don't see the point of working because they can take advantage of the system. Billy mentions that God has given every person on earth the ability to work hard if they are able. Even some of those that are not fully capable sometime finds a way to contribute to society. When an employer does good, the employee also benefits since they get to keep their jobs. When an employer does poorly, he faces tough decisions. Sometimes he has to lay people off, or even worse, close down. Either way, God can be glorified.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:17 NKJV)

Foundation of Society
Marriage. It is one of the foundations of society. Without it society would not grow. Family's will have less prosperity and will not flourish as a family should. That does not mean a family will have success, it just means it will have a harder time at succeeding.
Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. (Romans 14:19 NKJV)

Art Appreciation
Billy describes how a person can appreciate art but only one who is truly gift can make a masterpiece. If you don't like art, visiting an art museum might be a little boring. Billy states that like someone who is not an art lover, a person who is not into spiritual things won't appreciate the value of the Bible or understand Christ's purpose. Yet in Gods masterpiece, he designed a way for everyone to relate to the things of God. Ask God for understand of this masterpiece and understanding of the spiritual things.

Sing a song when you are sad
I can really relate to today's message. I have been having a hard time letting go of something and it has caused me to feel bad. Billy states that Christians are not immured to depression. I totally agree. I had postpartum depression with my third child. I had a difficult delivery, a c-section, and the doctors said my daughter had a cleft palate. It was difficult to say the least and made more difficult by a allergic reaction to a medicine. So, I totally can see why I suffered from it. Be strong and look to Christ. Find solace in his words, sing praises even when you don't care too. I always listen to a Christian station called air1. They always have the right thing on when I need it.
For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord. (Psalm 27:5, 6 NIV)

Mankind's Solution
The solution for mankind is clearly written in the Old Testament. However it is hardly read as a solution but a restriction. Though shalt love The Lord your God. The modern issues that man has created, wars, famine, disease, (this list can go on), can easily be resolved through one simple act of faith by every human. Love. Not just any love, but the love that comes from God and requires giving back to someone instead of taking away.
We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. (Psalm 33:20 NIV)

Soul and Heart
The soul is the temple of God's spirit, but yet many people ignore the soul and focus only on the body and mind. Exercising, learning, and teaching others how to be more human. The soul is often neglected and left to the devises of the person who it has a home. Billy notes that's why so many pastors offices are not filled with people and doctors offices are filled. People ignore the well being of their soul and focus their attention what they can see. In order to fix this issue, people must realize and seek after salvation in Christ.

Faultless Christ
Finding fault with a Christian is not that hard to do, but finding Christ at fault is difficult. The lesson Billy teaches today is about how a person must find there is no fault in Christ and for this reason, his teachings of Christianity is faultless. He is the one true leader of humanity from the darkness and grip of sin to the brightness of God. Without him there is no meaning of humanity. There is no light. One must recognize his deity in order to see the light of God.
As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— (1 Peter 2:4 NIV)

Lustful You
Some might not understand scripture when it says we lust against the flesh (Gal 5:17). But if you have every told a child no and they do the act anyway, that is what it means. A child understands the basic principal of the scripture without even been taught it. I will get my way even if I am told no. It's like the saying, if your friends all go jump off a bridge, would you follow blindly even though death will surely follow? This is what it means to lust against the flesh. We do what we know is wrong and have no regrets about it unless convicted by the spirit. You can still receive redemption for your sin by asking God for forgiveness.
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4 NIV)

Love Love Love
In society, the word love is thrown around like it was the most common word in language. However, love should not be taken lightly. As Christians we are to love our fellow man, no matter what color, creed, race, or religion. We are to love both Christians and non Christians alike. What are we doing that helps glorify Christ? Are we taking the message of salvation to others? If not, we should be. Whether it is through a blog, on a street corner, holding bible studies, or anything else that proclaims the love of Christ.
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. (1 John 3:18 NIV)

Serving Thursday
The lack of direction in today's society seems to be related to the distractions available to us. We have computer, phones, iPads, and other devices that take up our time. Billy points out that true direction comes from a relationship with Christ. Only then can we experience purpose and be able to commit ourselves to others in a way that is satisfying and rewarding.
Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:11, 12 NIV)

Serve
Today was giving Tuesday. It's a day to show the chartities both here and around the world the true meaning of giving. I also say that giving is actions.
As Billy notes today, "We need fewer words and more charitable works; less palaver and more pity; less repetition of creed and more compassion."
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, (Ephesians 6:7 NIV)

Righteousness
It's funny how society today has separated the good from the bad, the liberal from conservative, the rich from the poor. We are all human and have failed at recognizing the thread of our commonality. We were born I to a sinful world as sinful people. This is what the devotional from Billy touches on today. Only one man has ever been righteous enough to be in the presence of God, Jesus. I was listening to Greg Laurie who spoke about how there are good people in the world, ones who believe they are truly good and will go to heaven. However, the word of God contradict that thought.

Thus says The Lord
Billy speaks about the will of God and how he always makes a way for the Christian is in His will to complete the task giving. He caution one to be obedient to God and make sure that the task lines up with the word of God. He states the spirit will never lead a person to do something that is outside the will of God.
This is so true. I can remember a time when I was having unexpected car problems. When the car finally did start running, it was sluggish and chugged along until I reach a spot where there was a Christian bookstore. Then a vision of these beast entered my view right over the store and electrical sparks flew. I went to the store during lunch and told them of my vision. Turns out they had been having electrical and computer issues for no reason. My vision put these to rest and the store no longer had computer or electrical issues after much prayer. Be in the will of God, there is nothing that compares to it.

Conversion
Billy talks about how there is a mystery around the conversion of a Christian. How God transforms those who believe and changes their hearts to be more like His. The one thing to remember is that God is still changing lives today. I have been reading online about the recent crusades with Franklin Graham in Thailand. Amazing how this country has since the word of God come to life in his messages. I pray that the new converts begin to search the Word to learn all they can about God.
Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, (Ephesians 6:19 NIV)

Mom
Today Billy discusses the value of a godly mother. For example, George Washington's mother was a god fearing woman, while Nero's mother was a murderer. All of us have our stories of what our own mothers did to raise us. For some, our mothers were very doting, while other don't have the experience of a mother or one that was there for their kids.
While my own experience had two moms since my parents divorced, they varied greatly in their parenting style and their nature. My mom was very standoffish, while my stepmom was mild and loving. I can honestly say that I know my mom did the best she could. Her own parents were harsh on her which made her rebel and a little wild. She held a grudge against her own brothers and sisters who had been equally rough during her childhood. After I left home, our relationship, although strained, survived. We had a big fight in 2004 which ended our relationship for nearly three years before I was contacted by her for help. Then in late 2007, I was contacted by adult protective services to see what options she could be placed. After nearly five years in a nursing home, she passed away.
My step mom on the other hand was a gem. She was there when my own mom was not. I can honestly say she is a wonderful example of what a godly mom should look like. I'm not saying she is perfect because only one person has ever been perfect, but she lives the best example she can live.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: (Proverbs 31:28 NIV)

Created - not to be Selfish
Creation. We were created in the image of God. Billy points out that God was lonely and created us to be his companion. In today's world, we speak of life on other planets. We go to great lengths to explore space and the outter reaches of space. We build massive space ships, large telescopes, and a wide array of radio scopes. All of the search of other life. However, life is all around us yet we do not see it. We ignore those next door or around the corner. We are self absorbed, selfish, and arrogant.
Today someone rang my doorbell well after dark. Apparently a deliver I was expecting made it to the wrong house. At first I thought it was the deliver person and then realized, since they range the bell multiple times and begged me not to open the door (dogs were barking as usual), it was not the deliver person. That person could have very well had ignored the package and went into their own warm house. Yet they decided to drive out of their way to get the package to me. I am thankful for this since it was a new pair of boots I had ordered online.
For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:36 NKJV)

World Ending
Sorry about the delay. I actually was installing a new thermostat for the house since the old one had started corroding the batteries. Actually had a hard time with the installation because my heating system is older and had to be rewired some for the new wifi device. Glad I can say that now I can control the temperature when I am even away from home.
Billy starts off by saying the Christianity is the "Gospel of crisis". Speaking of the end of the age, Billy continues about how Christians can be happy. We have hope and we know what the future fate of this world is destined for greater purpose. We know that God will setup his kingdom on Earth and wipe away all that man has done wrong in the world.
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15 NIV)

Undestructible
The word of God is undestructible. Billy notes that throughout the ages, man has attempted to destroy the truth. Through fires and various means, these words have withstood the test of time. Scholars have tried to disprove it, yet the faith grew strong. Even after this world has passed, this word will remain.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Matthew 24:35 NIV)

Freedom
Today's message from Billy is short. Which for me is a good thing because I feel blah. Long day outside the office and other personal things have gotten me dragging. Salvation. Those who have it are free. Those who don't are either in denial or just don't follow the teachings of Christ. But when you thing about it, almost all of the world believes in something bigger than themselves. For the saved Christians, it the freedom of knowing that your debts are paid. For some others, it is the search for truth. Other life forms or the search for significance in the world (which by the way is an excellent read). Have you been searching? Are you still wondering what is this Christ all about? You won't know until you open the word of God and seek his guidance.
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36 NIV)

Flying Kites
Billy tells the story of a boy who flew a kite so high that he could not longer see it because of the clouds. Someone asked him how he knew the kite was there, to which he replied, because I feel a tug every once in a while. The same holds true with God. Sometimes it's just an unexplained tugging at your heart. Have you felt it recently? Those feelings you can't explain to call someone, pray for someone, or just God saying I am here. Be alert and watchful for His voice.

Love Someone
I can so relate to Billy's story of a young boy who told a prospective mother and father that all he wants is to be loved. Everyone wants it. Some get too much and become spoiled brats, while others don't get enough and fight for it. People are made to love others. We have it in our very nature. Without it, we are not living life to our full potential.
keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. (Jude 1:21 NIV)

Self destruct
As the world focuses its attention to the continuing peace talks in the Middle East and our government attempts to resolve the Iran nuclear crisis, today's lesson is spot on. Billy notes that we can't even continue our lives without building nuclear weapons, destroying each other through death or robbery. He says we can't even control ourselves. I find this to be so true. Most of us lie. Some of us steal, rob, or murder one another. Heck, some of us even kill ourselves, drown ourselves in alcohol, drugs, lewd behavior. It all comes down to one simple truth. God exists.
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good. (Psalm 53:1 NIV)

Peace
Peace doesn't come from holding a sign saying "world peace". Peace comes for a change of heart. Only God can change someone's heart. Billy mentions seeing several world events which peace was a theme. The promise of peace through man will always go unfulfilled. Whether it is a relationship, religion, or any other form that promises peace, keep in mind that it will lead to empty promises. Find peace through God
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, (Ephesians 2:13, 14 NIV)

Not your monkeys Uncle
Billy explores the scientific discovers that modern man has found. For example a snow flake is made up of some many different particles that it hard to fathom the begin and the end of one. Same is true with mankind. When Darwin connected man and monkey, he did so on the premise that if just one of his theories could be proven wrong then his entire legacy of monkey to man and evolution would be proven wrong. That came with the invention of particle microscopes. The moving parts of cells are so complex and unique to man that Darwin's theories have been blown out of the water. Needless to say most textbooks are still leaning toward the truth of his theories even though it has been disproven.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, (Psalm 8:3 NIV)

Self and happiness
Self. People have different images of themselves. Some view themselves more highly than they hold of others. Billy states that God is the peacemaker better our view of ourself and our view of God. He reconciles the common sense of self and the thoughts we have of God. Billy says that Gods concern for our happiness is far more infinite than our own.
So true. Once I stopped trying to fufill my life through marriage, relationships or other wants. Once I realized those things didn't hold my own happiness but that God was all I needed, am I a lot happier.

Apathetic
Billy tells the story of when the US was attacked by Japan in 1941. Shortly after the sleeping giant awakened and showed the world what happens when you wake the dragon. Now days, Christians are asleep with apathy and unless they awaken the life of America is fastly approaching demise. I pray that the hearts of Christians turn back to God and see the world as He sees it: in need of salvation.

Rebellious Youngsters
Billy speaks about how some young people move away from how they were brought up (aka their beliefs). The people who had influenced them over their your impressionable years is no longer their authority for what is right and wrong. What they should believe and what they don't believe. I am of the thought that if you teach your children the ways of God and live as an example and not push them in a relationship with God but gently guide, their faith will be restored after their wandering days are over. Some experience it sooner than others, some later than those younger. Needless to say the either return to seek God or continue down a path to destruction.
I have personally experienced it with my own girls. One who seemed to struggle through her own growing pains and another who really just started experiencing the joy of God through adversity. The last daughter is still in her teenage years. Still trying to discover who she is and who she wants to be in life.
All of our kids go through it whether they are the preachers kid or the parents who watch their kids like a hawk. My own rebellion ended when I was 23 and accepting Christ. By that time I already had one child, who had accepted Christ soon after I did.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (Psalm 51:12 NIV)

Adopted by grace
Billy describes a story about King Charles V who was loaned a large sum of money by a merchant. However, when the note was due, he was unable to pay for it. The merchant threw a feast for the king and set afire a large platter. Then he took out the note and burned it. Just as the king was grateful to the merchant, our heavenly king did the same for us. He forgave our sins and paid our debt by dying for us. Turn your eyes to the King who lives for ever. Not one made of paper, stone, metal, or jewels. He has adopted us as his children
Had a very good day.

Building fences
Today's lesson is about how God is wonderful. That He rescues the hopeless and places them over many things. Billy gives the example of Joseph (you know, the coat of man colors). He was thrown in a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, lifted up to be an overseer, accused of indecent behavior, but saved the Jewish race from famine.
Sorry so short. Long weekend rebuilding a fence. Happy Veterans Day!!! Thanks so much for your service. My dad is a vet of WWII.

Life as we know it
Today's lesson by Billy speaks of the order of the universe. Specifically what he calls "the language of order, beauty, perfection, and intelligence". The order of life is all around us even if we don't acknowledge it. It's in the air, the trees, the animals, and even the seas. We humans coexist in this world with various beast and plants. The plants and tree give us oxygen to breath and we give in return carbon dioxide. How can anyone fail to recognize this law of nature created by God?
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. (Psalm 19:1-3 NIV)

Happy happy happy
Making this a short post since I have been up at the hospital with my dad. His surgery went well and he will be home tomorrow.
Today's lesson gives the example of a women who claims to be the loneliest women in the world. Billy advised her to start sharing her faith. She wrote back and told him that she had taken his advice and is now the happiest women in the world
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. (Hebrews 13:15 NIV)

Hope & Faith
Tonight was the start of My Hope with Billy Graham. It was great to hear from him again. I would encourage each of you to find a broadcast for it. http://watchbillygraham.com/?#
The foundation of the Christian faith is the resurrection. Without it the truth preach for the past 2000 years is no longer valid. The philosopher Karl Barth said, "we are always free to reject it, but not modify it". Without the resurrection our faith is pointless for the hope that God has placed in Christ. Faithfully people believe because it has changed their lives.
I believe we can say this today too. Before long Christ will return, Christians will disappear and the whole world will be thrown in chaos Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. (John 14:19 NIV)

Undaunting Love
Understanding God's unconditional love can be somewhat daunting. One might have questions about how God could love us in our sin. Billy's message today is about how Christ died for us, though we were sinners. He replays a story about a young society leader who had visited both he and his wife, Ruth. Although she had converted and learned scripture, she was still left wondering how God could love her in her sin.
I think there are alot of people today that feel the same way. God is standing there with his arms wide open and they are asking but why do you love me, how can you love me. When all they really should be doing is just say, okay, you love me. I accept your free gift of Christ your son.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 NIV)
I have a prayer request. My boss shared that his mother is very ill. Doctors are not giving her much longer to live due to a heart valve issue that had been fixed but is failing. My prayer is that she is healed.

Are you Anxious?
Billy points out that today's society is one of the most worrisome in the history of the modern man. We have less to worry about due to advances of medicine, industry, technology, and the list could go on. The generations of the centuries before had to toil the ground to make a living but they were not as worried. The modern man seems to be more advanced yet has more to worry about.
Billy states that a Christian should not worry because we have faith in God to take care of us. We still have the same problems as everyone else, yet society is headed in the opposite direction than that of the Christian. In the middle of our conflict, we can seek out God to bring us peace.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6 NIV)

Disagreeing
In America today, there is a lot of disharmony. First, you have those that believe we are losing the focus of why we were founded. Then you have those that believe that the government is moving in t he right direction. That we are progressing toward a higher purpose of taking care of our fellow man, even if they do nothing to deserve it. Billy points out that we should focus on the person with whom we disagree and not the "rhetoric" that is being spoken. We are to love all men equally, whether we disagree with their beliefs are not.
I have had to remind myself of this several times. The last time was a week ago in training, when one of the trainers said something I personally disagreed with. I was in shock they even said it since I believe the group setting would have been on the same page I was. It's sad that I could not say it then that I thought of this scripture to give me a different attitude towards that person (I purposely didn't sit at their table the next day). I shunned this person merely because I disagreed with his point of view. Sad I know. See how God points those things out. :(
and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5:2 NIV)

Friend of the Friendless
God knows what is to be without friends. When Jesus was in the desert, he was friendless. When he was on his way to the cross, I am sure he felt friendless. All of us at any point in time can remember when they felt like they didn't have a friend in the world. Even I have experienced that, especially after after my last relationship ended. Billy reminds us it was Christ that laid down his life for us so we would never be alone even when we were. At anytime, we can call on Christ and he will be there to listen.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. (Psalm 91:14 NIV)

Spiritual Revival - Coming soon to Your Heart!
I have to say that I believe we are entering into a time that Christians and Non-Christians will put their faith on the line. Some will begin to renew their commitments to their first love - Christ. Others will find faith in Christ. While still others will see and hear but still refuse to believe. I might be crazy, but I am not the only one. The other night, two times I was under the impression that something was going on. The first time, I thought of my kids, nothing going on there. Then my father...nope not him either. Not sure at that time what it was. Then, I was awaken by the Lord with a strong feeling that lasted for over an hour. I first checked the news, then twitter and facebook. Facebook, though, had that there would be a solar eclipse on Sunday, November 3rd (today since this gets posted early morning). So I googled the significance of November 3rd. Besides the time changing in most states, the eclipse was the only thing I knew about, but then I found Comet ISON. It apparently will appear as well. While that is not the significant part of it, Thanksgiving is the start of Chanukah, a Jewish holiday, the Festival of Lights. It continues for eight days. At this point Comet ISON will be the closest to the sun. From everything I have read, the comet will sling around the sun and come out still intact (740k is really close to the heat). This event is the start of some very significant celestial events. I'm just going to post a link (http://www.wnd.com/2013/10/blood-moons-expert-watch-2014-and-2015/)
Today's lesson is walking in the Spirit. It is a way of life. As Billy notes, it's a day by day way of living. It is moving forward, not standing still. When you are moving, you are walking away from your past, your sin, your old self, your old ideals of what God is, your thoughts. When you are walking, you are moving toward something. Towards God, new life, Christ, Hope. There is no turning back when you are moving forward and away from something. You have left behind the past and started a new life believing in God, by Faith. Just as noted above, I have faith that something is happening bigger than what I have seen before. Bigger than what the world has seen. My faith comes from hearing the word, learning the word, and being taught the word. Without it, I would be like a boat adrift on the ocean. Taken by the waves and winds where they point the boat. With faith, I have direction. My sail is up and pointed northward. My life is not my own since I have been purchased with the blood of Christ. It is my duty to become his servant and spread the word of God through the world (i.e. internet). I pray daily for those that will read this in the future that it will be a beacon of light for all that sees it. This is for when I am gone. When we are all gone. You will be left wondering what happened to the Christians. This is your light. Pick up a Bible, since there will be plenty around before they decided to burn them, and read Revelations. It tells you what is about to happen. If you get stuck, ask God for wisdom on how to interpret the scriptures. But, the first step is faith.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16 NIV)

Good Gifts
The Holy Spirit is the voice of the Father and Son to each persons spirit. Once you accept Christ, you will notice a change. Things that you use to do will stop being as important. The Holy Spirit is there to help guide you, help your understanding, and love you. As Billy notes, you may not always feel Him, but he is always there.
So my personal experience with the Holy Spirit, I have posted before, but it's a warm feeling that spreads throughout my stomach area. This feeling is not always there. I know he is always with me though.
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (Luke 11:13 NIV)

Can't Get Something from Nothing
It's interesting in today, that people are able to believe this world was created through various means. That man has evolved or that all life has evolved. Most people who believe in Christ do so based on a sixth sense that is God giving. An undiscovered sense that has a direct connection to the God who created the universe, who breathed life into Man, who created the animals, reptiles, birds, and the creatures of the oceans. Billy touches on the fact that one has to believe by faith in order to "see" God. It is through Christ His son that faith begins. It grows over time to enable us to tell others. We are God's creation and without Him we will perish.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NIV)
Today has been a very emotional day. It hurts that I have been in a role that has expanded my knowledge but has failed to fulfill. Part of it is due to the organizational changes that have happened. Part of it is has been me not being honest with myself. I have known for sometime, but I am not quiet ready to give up on it yet. I like the firm, just need to a new direction to my path.
Hope everyone had a good Halloween. It was my daughters birthday and I won't mention her age since it will give away mine.

Do You Doubt God?
Today's study is based on a question by Thomas. His question about where Jesus was going brought up that the disciples still didn't know who Jesus was. It may seem strange that they had been with Jesus for almost three years, yet Thomas still didn't know of the place that Jesus spoke about in John 14:4. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through the son (v 16). Who was the first disciple after His resurrection that said I have to place my finger in the holes of the nails, lest I do not believe....that's right it was Thomas. A man of faith. A man who Jesus choose. A man who understood little about Gods plan. But Jesus understood Thomas that he appeared to him and told him to place his fingers in the hole (John 20:25-27).
Day two of training we watched a documentary by James Burke. The interesting thing about this was the last sentence. "the universe is at anytime what you say it is, then say". It was quiet an interesting perspective on humans and the world. It implies that we create our own universe, our own world, our own reality. (Remember yesterday's soccer game?). Indoctrination of socialist ideals. That Buddhists figured out the earth and the meaning of life and that's why they have so many different gods. Totally walking all over the fact that God had been in existences before the world was ever formed. Man has made up religion to fill a void that he himself can not fill. That religion is either socialized institutions or thought. God is not a religion that you can fit him into a box. Or make rules that is for your own pleasures in order to explain life. He is. He was. He always will be. My life doesn't revolve around religion. It revolves around a God that has taken over my soul, redeemed it, and replaced it for a new soul. One without tarnish. He is not a crutch. Religion is the crutch. Get outside of your religion and find God. He is the wind that gives you life, the water that quenches your thirst, and the soul that gives you breath.

Historical Value of the Bible
Facts- funny how today Billy describes what is required to prove an event happened. You see, I was in training today where they challenged us to rethink reality by trying to prove something happened. The example was a soccer game where Italy beat England 2-1. How did we know that it actually happened if we were not there. The reality for certain events in history have to be proven by various forms of documentation. Alexander the Great death at 33 is less documented than the resurrection of Christ. Billy points out that people believe Alexander died with very little evidence. It's hard to imagine that a lot of people are blind when it relates to Christ. It is more convenient to not believe than to believe simply because the Bible is the historical document. At one point in time, the Bible was not in its current form. Documentation was done on scrolls which where stored in jars for safe keeping. Just because it's in the form of a book called the Bible, the authority the words once held as historical fact has lost its value. I pray that you look at the Bible without the prejudice.

Is the World out of Control?
One would think the world is out of control. There are wars, rumors of war, civil unrest, fighting over rights ( guns, unborn, civil). But I believe everything is for a reason. (There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV)). As noted by Billy in today's reading, we live in the days of man. From the looks of it we aren't doing too good. Just to name a few, Polluted oceans, droughts, global warming, terrorist. Thankfully we as Christians look forward to the day of The Lord. When Christ will return for the church, aka His bride. There will be a glorious renunion of the living and the dead that have gone before.
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Philippians 3:20 NIV)

Are you pushy
Billy describes a story told by the book, "The American Girl". The girl married a French revolutionist who was passionate about what he believed. She had lost her passion because of her studies at a university. I believe it is true that one can lose their passion for Christ. Life has a way of pushing people around that they forget their calling or purpose. God can restore a persons faith if they are willing to work with God.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1 NIV)
It was a stormy day today. Knocked out the power and it didn't get restore for 6 hours. AUGH. Short entry.

Witness
Billy gives an example of how powerful the Holy Spirit is when He calls you. Nothing can compare to the gentle voice that drowns out all other things around. From this example, a song was being unsung that Tom Allan heard wasn't what drew him to God. It was the voice of the spirit who called to Tom's soul. Every soul is being called by God at some point in their lives. Sometimes it is through the trails. Sometimes it's through other people of God that touch the lives of those around them. And sometimes it is simply a word from God in the heart of him who is listening.
As in my own conversion, I could not tell you why I was crying. The message wasn't anything that I would remember today. It was just a feeling that I needed God. The Spirit of God will call to you at some point. Are you willing to listen? One day, God's spirit will be lifted from the earth. Pure evil will reign. God's word will remain through sources like the internet, books, and Bibles.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.http://bible.com/1/mat.5.16.kjv

Sinful Us
Today's lesson is about how Christ can change a person instantly. Billy uses two example, Augustine and John Newton, who both experienced a dramatic conversion. Reminds me of Paul, aka Saul, who was going around persecution Christians after Christ's death. He had a run in with Christ and was changed in a moment.
As for my own experience, it was nearly so dramatic, but it is my story. Lost, alone and pregnant, I found Christ. I knew without hesitation that is what I needed - salvation. God always makes a way for people to find him. Mine just so happened to be through my pregnancy. Sure times were tough afterwards. But I can't say that it wasn't for a reason because I know it was all for good.
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV)

Resurrection - fact or fiction
Billy starts off today's topic with a conversation he had with the former Chancellor of Germany, Konrad Adenauer. The Chancellor was about to retire and surprise him by answering his own question about the most important thing in the world. Adenauer answered himself by stating it was the resurrection of Christ. He said this fact about that there would not be any hope without the resurrection. Believing that God raised him from the dead, just like he will for believers that have already passed, is the first step in a new life.
If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. (1 Corinthians 15:13, 14, 20 NIV)
Today my company had a function to kickoff the United Way campaign. I'm not a big fan of them however I did hear about a program that did interest me. It's part of a help center but specifically for veterans. I might have to go check them out. It sounds like a really good program which helps vets get their life back in order after deployment.
Don't be Puzzled, it's easy to accept Christ

Skull & crossbones
Today's point by Billy is more relevant today than before. In the US, we are at a crossroads. As I said before, the world is becoming more and more evil. Billy states that human nature likes to wallow in our sin rather than accept Christ and his ability to eliminate sin within our hearts. This is why the Jews cried for the release of a vicious killer rather than Christ. He had pierced their hearts with truth and they decided to turn away from a life filled with God. That's why there are those who wish to take away our freedom and will not stop til we are compliant.
I actually have had several of those encounters recently through my twitter account (@rachmasjt). The most recent one is in denial about the government coming to take out civil liberties away. The ACA is just the first step of control. I really believe that we are in the last days. I think the world as we know it will end before the next decade begins. But I am just one person with an opinion - I may be right, I maybe wrong. But no one can ignore the warning signs. Wars and rumors of wars. Deceit is rampant. Lies from our own government. Spying on the citizens and leaking information about our military and not protecting our military.
Well all I can say is I hope you have fire insurance....Jesus don't leave earth without him....

End times, anyone?
When Christ was on earth, sin was rampant. But compared to now, it was far less vicious, cruel, and devious. Billy states that some people believe that Christ would receive a better reception today than back then. However, he disagrees because it's a sin problem. More people in the world, more technology, and less Christian than after Christ (comparatively since the population has grown), Christ would be crucified faster. People are less tolerant of a "god" who would die for his people. They rather have faith in the goodness of mankind. Sure, there are good people who don't consider themselves Christians, but how many new religions are in the world that would tolerate someone who comes back from the dead? Good question.
Have you ever read the book series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, titled "Left Behind"? If not, I would encourage anyone who hasn't to read it. You see, as a Christian, we believe that Christ is returning. But before that can happen, evil will reign over the earth. The book takes the stance that all the Christians disappear before this happens and the anti-Christ (aka satan) will appear and some how resurrect himself and proclaim himself to be the "Christ". Excellent fictional book based on the Biblical facts of the end times.

Death and rescurection
Billy points out that Christianity is different from most religions of the world. It is because Christ is risen. Buddha died, Muhammad died. They had no resurrection that they all shared in common. Only Christ, the Son of God experienced such a moment. Why, because he was found to be without sin.
Remember what I said a few days ago about how the birthing pains are getting strong? Well, another school shooting happened in the US. A child the same age or a little younger than my youngest, shot and killed and adult and then killed themselves. There are no words of comfort that one can say that will take away the sting of this death. It's final. The last step before eternity. This is one of the reasons why I want to take my daughter out of public schools. More and more people are just not in there right minds. I don't care if she will miss out on new friendships. I just want her healthy. My middle daughter had her life threatened because she did the right thing and turned in a group of students at her school who destroyed a home by flooding it. Thankfully the girl was found out quickly and was transferred before they could carry out this plan of revenge. I say home-school if you can.

Daily Prayer
“This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ’ (Matthew 6:9-13 NIV)
This is the Lords Prayer. It's a model of how to pray. Feel free to put your own words. God knows your heart and will accept you as you are.
Thought I would post this since it going around on twitter. Follow me if you want. @rachmasjt

Knowledge and Wisdom of the Bible
Today Billy stresses the importance of taking every problems to the Bible. It's knowledge is vast and it's words bring hope. I would add to this that asking God and the Holy Spirit for wisdom and knowledge on where the answers lay within this imprant book of the world. It will enlighten you, develop your relationship with God and you will find a source strength during times it is needed.
Today, I found out I had been cheated by a business establishment. I am still very pisssed off but, the confrontation is what I dread. I am not good with conflict nor am I good at speaking to someone about bad news. It really sucks. I will be praying and asking God for strength and wisdom in how to handle it. The Buble says in your angry, do not sin. “In your anger do not sin” : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, (Ephesians 4:26 NIV). Unfortunately the business is closed on Sunday
Look in the scroll of the Lord and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Spirit will gather them together. (Isaiah 34:16 NIV)

Savior and Fence
Billy's lesson today was on the cross. How many had suffered before and after Christ and it didn't mean as much as the one time it did. Nor did the tomb which held him mean as much if it remained unopened. Gods son didn't died a needless death. He rose again in glory to reign over the hearts of men and women alike. Don't let His death pass you by without asking him in your heart.
Time is running out on mankind and the sins he has committed. God only knows the time but man can see the signs of his coming drawing nearer. The little birth pains have now increase to back pain, which on,y means on thing. The bowels of hades is trying whatever it can to drag as many humans souls down to the pits of hell. The pain won't end with your death there. Only intensify your weakness and ravage you tortured soul until you think you can bare anymore.
Today I was called a liberal. Merely because I brought a subject that went off track back to its point. Oh, that is really funny. If only he knew what I have been through to get here. The pain endured. The heartache and loss I have suffered. Haha...guess what. I win anyways. I am a believer in Christ who will be caught up in the air when Jesus returns.
My dog problem is finally resolved. For a lot less than I thought too. Yea! I am posting my fence because it is a beautiful site.
He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, (Luke 24:46 NIV)

Brokeness
In life, there are many things that can break the human spirit. Grief, money problems, depression, or just anything that would get a person down. But brokeness can lead to such joy. God is there whenever we are broken. He sees your need. He knows how you feel. He felt the same emotions when Christ was on earth and died for our sins. Nothing that you are going through or will go through will go not unnoticed by God.
In today's world, there is so much tragedy. People losing their jobs due to the economic downturn. Those that can't afford to feed their families due to this hardship. It can get a person down. I remember a time in my own life that I didn't have a car and had to rely on public transportation. It was one bus to drop off my daughter at daycare and another to go to work. Two hours each way. But the one day it rained was the day we danced in the rain, giving away our umbrella to someone without getting off the bus. There can be joy in your life due to God saving you. Even though you may endure hardship, the joy doesn't disappear. Once God is in your heart, you don't rely as much on your own emotion to say how you feel, but rather depend on how God makes you feel. His joy can replace your sorrow. His fulfillment can be your sufficiency. His provision can be enough.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18 NIV)

History Lessons
The great leader Napoleon recognize how great and powerful Jesus was when he stated, "I know men, and I tell you, Jesus is more than a man." Billy writes about Emerson not including him as a Representative Men, he replied, "Jesus was not just a man." Arnold Toynbee who was a British historian, philosopher of history, research professor of International History. One of is quotes was "There is a savior." These great men of history all recognized Jesus deity.
The secular world no longer sees the benefit of faith. They are increasingly hostile towards those with faith and try to remove any offensive words, symbols, or references of a higher power....Jesus and God. If there was ever a time which the faith was under attack it is now. Faith in someone that died over 2,000 years ago has become old fashioned. I continually pray that we cam stand strong against the society that has deemed us replaceable and obsolete.

Passionate
The passion that Christ gives is for the believers in Christ. A passion to love him, to fear God, and to hate sin. God is not unreasonable or does He sit in judgement of your every movement. He will expect you to make the right choices for His sake and don't think you won't be held accountable for your actions.
God says in Isaiah 1:18, Come let us reason together. God desires a relationship with you so He can teach you His ways and direct your path. Reading the Bible or a devotional will lead to a greater understand of God's love and how He wants you to live. Have questions about what you read, ask for wisdom. God will either direct you to a person or another scripture to answer your questions. Not all of us are Bible scholars and even those that are can't answer questions that aren't explicitly answered in the Bible. Like why does bad thing happen to good people. No one can answer that except God.
God is bigger than we can ever imagine. His thoughts towards us is endless. He is always there whether we feel him or not. Trusting him in ever situation is furthering the kingdom to glorify Him and shows the world he does exist.Jesus said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ (Mark 12:30 NIV)
I personally had a situation happen to my family which would push the boundaries of love and forgiveness to a breaking point. It took many years of rebuilding these relationships and in some cases breaking them, for good reason, in order to reestablish the faith of the family unit. Some of these relationships are still strained but are less likely to impact the family future. There was also a breaking of the church family. My immediate family doesn't associate with the church family that failed to support us in a time of need, but we have found a church that works.

Keys to the Kingdom
Today I feel blah! Probably because of the absolutely awesome camping trip. My boss said I looked less stressed. I wish I could say that about this afternoon 😒
The glory of the cross is what Billy starts today's lesson off with....although Paul was not a follower of Christ until after his death, he saw the glory of the cross upon his conversion. As Billy notes, the crucification that took place on the cross is one of the most selfless acts any one person has every done for mankind. It showed how much God loves his creation. How much He desired to be reconciled with his people. God took back what satan had stolen away so many years earlier. God's son descended down into hell, took back the keys of the kingdom, and burst forth on that glorious morn with good news for the lost....there is hope.
It reminds me of a song by Group 1 Crew, "Keys to the Kingdom" which speaks about as Christians we can have the keys through our faith in Jesus.
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (Galatians 6:14 NIV)

Hope for Today
There is only one hope for America and the world....Christ Jesus and his saving grace. Today, Billy quotes Emil Brunner, who once said, "What oxygen is for the lungs, such is hope for the meaning of human life.” The life of a human can only be found in Christ. Just watching TV, one can see there is despair and hopelessness everywhere. God is willing and able to forgive those who need hope. Grace is there waiting for those willing to ask.
Just getting back into the routine of life after camping this weekend. We had a good time even though it rained, the tent leaked, and we were all wet.....The best times are made like this. Even my daughter stated that except for the rain, it was a good trip.

Lilly of the Valley
The life of Christ was a mere 33 years. Today, Billy illustrates the fact that what was most important in all those years was his death. He states that nearly 1/3 of all the four Gospels was devoted to his death. He states that most biolographys don't event take up half that much. But the Bible has more propeshy and accounts by the disciples, than any other historical event in this world history. That should speak volumes to how important this one man over 2,000 years ago is for mankind. If for no other reason than for the salvation of man through the forgiveness of sin. Most people don't have a concept of what sin is. They think well I am a good person, I never killed anyone, or I honor my mother and father. But Gods word is clear. ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory if God (Rom 3:23). Today could be a new day for you. Accept Christ as your redeemer.
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. (1 Thessalonians 5:9, 10 NIV)

Death & Blood
There are so many things that those two words can mean. But to the saved redeemed Christain, it only means one thing. I have been saved by the blood of Christ who has redeemed me with his blood. Billy speaks about how dying on the cross and rising again has made Christ the king of a kings. One who satan can not compete with in power and truth. However it does not mean that any one who goes to church every Sunday is going to be with him in heaven. The Bible states many times that Jesus is our salvation. That those that believe in Him would have everlasting life. One can believe with their mind but not be saved. One can say is name but not be saved. It has to come from the heart and the soul. I can't describe the feeling that one gets because it maybe be different for everyone. But for me it was a warmth in my gut right under the rib cage. Accept His love by asking him into your heart
Camping in the rain is never fun. Especially she your tent leaks so what does one woman and her daughter do....go buy another tent and set it up in the dark. Not the first time this has happened and won't be the last I think it will be fine tomorrow the weather looks okay. Be blessed
Don't live in Darkness
Billy speaks about light of the world. He makes the point that even though God was using his creation throughout the centuries, until Jesus came there truly was darkness which covered the earth. Jesus is described in Matthew 4:16, a "great light". The darkness is the sins of this world that has man in its hand around those still in the darkness throat. Until they come to realize they are in the dark, satan will continue to hold the hostage.
The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 NIV)

Prideful Deceit
Finally started to feel better.
Billy continues to teach on pride, furthering the discussion about how pride is typically mans downfall. As noted in yesterday's blog, satan was prideful which led to his boot out of heaven. Billy points out King Saul was proud and Peter the disciple of Jesus was prideful which led him to deny Christ.
This sin has such a grip on America and the world. Along with pride comes hatred. This is the reason why so many groups hate the other group, nations go to war, politicians don't fund the government. (Well that's the other blog). For this reason, Christ was crucified. People were expecting a king that would setup his kingdom on earth. What they got was a king of the heart. He wanted to be the king of their hearts and soul because that is where the issues laid. The heart and soul of man had been changed due to Adam and Eve. God sent his son to change this and region over the people in spirits which is where the breakdown occurred.
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. (Matthew 23:12 NIV)
Daily Prayer, Lord Jesus, You suffered such humiliation and pain for me on the cross. I ask You, humbly, to forgive my pride and errant ways that nailed You there.
Sunny day by the sea.

Women - What I hope for them
This is for my daughters. Miley Cyrus can't even burn the candle against them!
Most of these verses are based on a "wife", but I believe a woman can be a single mom, a working woman, a teenager finding herself, a college student, or any woman in all walks of life.
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.
She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. I
n her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. (Proverbs 31:10-31 NIV)
